Ground agama

Ground Agama is common in the dry areas of Botswana but also found in the Okavango in the more arid areas of the Delta. They have stout, triangular heads and long tails. They cannot shed their tails. The eyes can move in their sockets and the pupils are round. The male agamas are brightly coloured and defend their territories against other males. They are mostly insectivores (eating mainly ants).

Breeding: oviparous
