Barking gecko

The barking gecko is absent from the Okavango but present through the central, southern and western areas of Botswana where their dusk chorus is a feature of the Kalahari. The males call from the entrance of the burrow to advertise territory and when conditions are favourable (particularly after rain) they emerge from the burrows to feed on invertebrates.
