Because our courses are modular and there is an element of self study we can avoid a rigid schedule and the trainer can create a weekly training programme based entirely on local conditions, wildlife movements and water levels.
We try by all means to make sure that every student who joins our programmes has exposure to all our training. This means that every week we will do at least 1 mokoro excursions, some boating, game-drive, game walks, a sleep out on an island, basic weapons training (not for bush skills or the birding course), tracking, navigation, survival skills, hydrology, ecology etc. Lectures are informal and are based on areas where students on the training course feel they would like further explanation of topics they have studied in the manual. We prefer to facilitate discussions rather than conduct long, tedious lectures.
